ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO MCA

Punjabi University,Patiala will make admissions to Institute/Colleges affilated to it on the basis of PAM-CAT merit and in accordance with the instructions contained in Punjab Government.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. The information relating to various institutions (No. of seats, Distribution of seats and any related information) will be notified at the time of counselling.

  2. If sufficient number of candidates belonging to reserved seats category(ies) are not available, the vacant seats will be offered to candidates in general category. Likewise if seats under 85% category remain vacant, these would be transferred to 15% category and vice-versa.

  3. All admissions are subject to approval by Punjabi University, Patiala.

  4. The provisions in this brochure may be changed by the competent authority without any notice.

    For any clarification/dispute, the decision of vice-chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala shall be final and binding on all concerned.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    1. A candidate will be eligible for admission to MCA courses, if she fulfils the following conditions.

      1. The minimum qualification for MCA programme is prescribed as Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate(40 % marks for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped with at least 40 % disability) provided that they must have passed the 10+2 or higher degree examination with mathematics /Statistics/Business Mathematics/ Business statistics/Quantitative Techniques or equivalent as compulsory/optional/additional paper.

      2. She fulfils the conditions mentioned in Punjab Government notification incorporated in the brouchure.

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR COUNSELLING

    1. Candidates, who are declared qualified in PAM-CAT are eligible for admission, are required to appear for counselling at there own expense and according schedule given in the brochure.

    2. The candidate will be required to produce the following original certificates at the time of counselling.

      1. Matriculation certificate containing date of birth.

      2. Detailed marks card of the qualifying examination.

      3. Character certificate from the principal of the institution last attended.

      4. Reserve category certificate from the competent authority, if applicable.

      5. Medical fitness certificate.

      6. PAM-CAT admit card.

      The certificates at sr.no.(i)to(iv) shall be returned to the candidate after admission is made and he/she shall deposit these certificates in thje institution ton which he/she is admitted, at the time of registraqtion. Candidates must be medically fit and bring along with them a medical fitness certificate signed by a Gazetted Medical Officer on the prescribed from failing which they will not be entited to counselling.

      1. Each candidate selected for admission, after counselling, will be required to deposit a sum of Rs. 10,000/- failing which the admission shall stand cancelled. After deducting the processing fee of Rs.2500/- the balance amount shall be remitted to institution to which the candidate is admitted finally, for reund to the candidate.

      2. the candidate admitted to a particular instiute shall deposit full fee to the respective institution not later than three days after the start of session, failing which the admission shall automatically stand cancelled.
